The quick fire this week is create an exciting egg dish for the guest judge who is a huge egg fan. He looked geeky to me, too bad I can't remember his name. Carla does a Dr. Seuss themed green eggs and ham while Fabio goes all out with 3 egg dishes. Josea make an "egg roll" out of egg white and a tempura egg. The top two are Carla and, of course, Stefan. I was hoping, hoping, hoping for Carla and she wins the challenge!
The elimination challenge is to cook a "last meal" for a super star chef. The cheftestants draw knives to see which chef they will cook for. Carla gets her pick of the chefs and she keeps her draw since she loves, loves, loves peas and her chef. Fabio also draws his fave, an Italian chef which makes him very happy and confident. I guess he won't have to sell monkey ass to this gal!
While everyone is busy cooking, Fabio breaks his little finger, ouch! Being a trooper, he says he will cut it off and sear it to stop the bleeding and deal with 9 fingers tomorrow. Now that's dedication! Needless to say, he stays on the job.
Stefan seems to be in a slump (karma) and his dish falls short but Fabio, broken digit and all, is spot on. Leah's eggs benedict didn't thrill anyone. Carla's dish did well while Josea met with mixed reviews.
At judge's table, Stefan couldn't believe the criticism he was getting for his dish. God forbid he should over cook something! Josea also received not so good comments from the judges. Carla and Fabio impressed the judges the most. If Carla had kept her mouth shut she may have won this one but she had to speak up and say "I know my squab was over cooked". Not everyone thought so Carla! She blew that and Fabio wins the challenge. That's ok, I'm glad he finally won. Leah didn't do so well and is told to pack her knives and go. Next week, the start of the finale! Double D
