Gone Country-Country Cooking and Fuel

I guess everyone partied too hard especially Bobby Brown, because the next day he is unable to rise from his bed and is in a drunken stupor. Maureen tries to rouse him like the old married couple they appear to play. In the next room, they all (except Bobby) find guitars that has smash me written on them. Gee I always wanted to smash a guitar, doesn't it look like great fun? But it appears to be much harder than it looks for the women, smashing on brick walls doesn't make one dent when finally Dee puts his foot through them-he should know, he's a rocker. Whose ever guitar holds the note, will be the leader of the challenge. And much to Carney's surprise, she's the winner. The note says that the cast will be cooking a down home country dinner for his family, or as he called it his muzikmafia family, with grandma Rich as the judge, and who better to win this challenge, than Carney, she's all about the food. They all (except Bobby) make the caravan to the grocery store, Carney in the lead, making list, delegating tasks. Dee notices that Julio's shopping cart is only filled with yellow food-or as Julio says yjello food. Who knew? Maureen meanwhile is having a blast having her pictures snapped, which she says it's an every day occurrence. How nice!
Back at the farm, Bobby is finally rising, must be around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and everyone is madly cooking. Bobby apologies which is endearing for about 2 seconds, now we know why Whitney threw him out, he spends the night boozing and partying so that the next day he's good for nothing, of which DeGarmo states she has no patience with someone in a drunken stupor. Watch out guys, if you marry her, you'll definitely have to tow the line! Julio now has the sleepies, must be all that yjello food, and takes a nap on the couch while everyone is furiously cooking-his punishment for napping, Julio has to set the table for all the guest, but Mother Maureen goes in to help him. She really is like someone's grandmother.
With dinner all set, JR's family begins to arrive, at first I thought maybe the carnival broke down outside, all shapes and sizes were coming through the front door. Wilson has a sudden shock of panic as she sees all the people and laments that they haven't made enough food! At the end of the meal, JR asks granny "Was it good?" You could feel the air being sucked out of the room, but then she pronounces "It's Good!" To which JR says that girl Carney can cook!-of course she can, she loves food!
After dinner and I'm sure they were all pooped-they all headed downtown to a club called Fuel, where JR had arranged that each cast member would sing their song on stage with his band. Maureen was petrified! She had a look of sheer horror! Each one took the stage, and of course, Bobby Brown and Dee fought for center stage, jealousy rearing it's ugly head. Mo was crying. DeGarmo blew them away with her amazing voice and she knew it. Mo was crying. Carney Wilson was a bit timid and scared but managed to pull it off, I'm thinking she just alittle self conscious of her weight. Mo was crying. Julio and JR did the duet "Of All the Girls I Used to Know" which sounded amazingly good, and of course it would since his father, Julio Igelesis did it previously with Willy Nelson, sounds of deja vu. Did I say, Mo was crying? In the end, she was terribly disappointed with herself for not having the courage to go on stage and sing, intimidated by the others and her lack of real live stage singing experience. Come on Mo, you knew what you signed up for, if you can't stand the heat, you better get out of the kitchen, or in this case the club!-Single D

Celebrity Apprentice-The Godfather Saga

Oh where to begin, this episode unfolds like a Mario Puzo novel, the mafia Don, Donald Trump, the rat Luca Brazi, Vinny, and the hotheaded Sonny Corleone, Piers Morgan. Oh I can hear that godfather music in the background. Meanwhile, back to the firing of Jennie, we learn in the war room, Omarosa wants that "twit Carol Alt gone"-frankly I think she just threaten by her statueque beauty. It's funny how not two seconds after that sentence leaves Omarosa's lips when Carol walks in and Omarosa gives her a congratulatory hug, women will be women!
This episode's challenge was to design a free standing Croc donation bin where people can donate their used crocs to be recycled for those in Africa. I never really cared for Crocs myself-relegating them to garden shoes, but now I give them a thumbs up for that concept.
Piers becomes the PM for the guys, and The Don choses Carol as the girls PM. Immediately Trace comes up with the perfect catch phrase of "Wear Them, Share Them", watch out for those strong silent types! And hence the mayhem begins. When the guys think the girls are spying on them, Piers sends in Vinny to be a spy and cross the line over to the girls camp. Women being the nurturers, takes in Vinny with open arms-What? Didn't they suspect anything? I kept thinking this has got to backfire, although while it was happening, it was so totally funny. Vinny was thinking he was still on the Sopranos. When Vinny wrote a note and threw it to Baldwin, I was surprised that Baldwin didn't purposely pick it up but called Lennox to pick it up. Baldwin wanted to disassociate himself from all this deceitfulness, because much to my surprise, surprise, he's a minister and a born again Christian. He was having a pang of consciousness!
I thought the bin shaped like a giant Croc was a light bulb moment for the women with the cut out sign of Carol perfect and even Omarosa had to admit that Carol is a 10, although we know how highly O thinks of herself by rating her sassy self a 9 1/2.
Meanwhile, Vinny, being the nice guy that he is, started to feel the warm and fuzzy for the girls and decided to do a double cross and become a double agent and start working for the girls team, which set off a series of events that eventually led Vinny to become as he said, a man without a country, scorned by the girls and rebuked by the guys. I did feel sorry for him, but he shouldn't have taken it so far, he shoulda called it quits when Marilu and him were to go to the factory. That would have been the perfect time to go back to the guys camp, but our Luca Brazi continued to play his role.
I thought the guys did well on their project with that great catch phrase and the croc drop sign, and it did look like the Croc reps liked the guys better (I ended up liking the guys drop better with the graphics and all), however, the girls won for once-I'm thinking that shoe would look better in the Smithsonian.
In the boardroom, Vinny was still in Godfather mode, saying how the rat always gets killed, to which Piers or Pierce as Vinny kept calling him, piped up and said that "Marilu is not going to kill you". Curious how in the boardroom there was not a chair for Vinny-hum..too much over kill.
And I loved it when Vinny said that Piers called him a "fat Italian" which Piers, said, "no I called you a very fat Italian". I swear, Piers could say all the cuss words in the english language and they would sound like he's reading Shakespeare.
Had not for Vinny offering up his resignation, in the end, it almost looked like Piers was going to get fired, his face turning all pasty and sweaty, and his usually caustic English mouth snapped shut like two thin veal chops. Hey, have you noticed how Baldwin and Trump share the same doughy little eyes? In the end, The Donald had to let Vinny go, had he not offered himself up like some sacrificial lamb-Piers would have been ambushed, like Sonny, at the toll booth, his car riddled with bullets-but oh I digress! -Single D

American Idol-OMY-Ha!

American Idol is in the Heartland-Omaha, Nebraska with one of the first contestants bearing gifts, but not of the musical kind. Chris did manage to charm his way to a Simon referral for Omaha's Fox 42 to get him a gig hosting an Idol talk show. Well, if you can't sing, talk! Jason forgot the lyrics, but was given a pardon by the judges and was passed through, now don't forget the lyrics in Hollywood or you're history! I think the scariest person at the auditions in Omaha and probably in the entire state of Nebraska was Sarah formally known aptly as Lady Morgue (she wrestles). Sinister, ghoulish, freaky, weird, just a few adjectives come to mind-and what's with the eye make-up? Certainly not for the weak at heart-which it seems she throughly and ghoulishly enjoys. I never, ever want to meet her in a dark alley! -Single D

Gone Country-

As I was remote surfing the other night, I did my momentary pause on the CMT channel. Now, I never watch CMT, can't say I'm a country music fan, the closest thing to liking country music would be Carrie Underwood singing that Louieville Slugger song. But as I paused, I noticed the fresh face, hey isn't that Diana DiGarmo from Idol fame? What's she doing with those people and who are those people anyway? I did recognize Maureen-Marsha, Marsha, Marsha from the Brady Bunch and she's definitely has not had any cosmetic work! She totally reminded me of someone's grandmother. Stop! Carney Wilson, love her but psst-she's getting fat again! Girl just let go, eat what you want, life's too short, that's my philosophy ...but who were all those other people? I actually had to look them up-ok, I'm not up on the latest singers/rappers/rockers (are they called singers anymore?) Well, here's the cast of characters-Dee Snider (Twisted Sister fame), isn't Dee a girl's name, don't know his music, Sisqo from Dru Hill (never heard of him), Julio honey Iglesias Jr.-one word, yummy! and Bobby Brown, I know him from Whitney Houston-LOVE HER! I came in this episode when they were wondering who is that person joining them, landing in some special private plane-and out walks Bobby Brown. He's not as arrogant as I thought he was. Actually, Maureen and Bobby strike up an unlikely friendship, based mostly on cigarettes. I was pleasantly surprised to find him polite and nice, maybe Whitney was the Bit--h after all!
They all arrive at this immense Log and Glass home (somewhere in Nashville), I'm guessing it belongs to the guy in the private helicopter that lands in the front lawn, wearing a pack of dead animals on his back. Yo PETA! They all call him JR, as in John Rich of Big and Rich-sorry guys, never heard of him either or his songs.
The premises of this reality show is that these seven diverse musical talents (Maureen?) will be in Nashville to write and perform a country song, but first having to prove themselves to JR, by going through a series of which I'm sure, silly stunts.
Well, Dee starts off with a good impression by telling JR he doesn't like country songs, "all about your hound dog, your truck's broken, your wife's left ya, you've lost your job", then he begins to sob that there is no coffee-I NEED COFFEE he wails, raising the eyebrows of JR and the rest at the table. JR sits at the head like he's holding court, addressing each one, and solicitiously thanking them for joining in this adventure as he makes a sly look toward DiGarmo's cleavage. JR complements our Marsha Brady on her voice to which Dee remarks on the aside that he didn't know that she had a song let alone sang. Meanwhile Dee's still whining about coffee and for Carney it's all about the food-country cooking at it's finest.
In their bedrooms, each one has a guitar, a gift from JR all done up in rhinestones-which makes Maureen cry-I'm thinking she's going to be the crier of the bunch. Julio kept a low profile, but how's he going to sing country with that Spanish accent? While Bobby and Maureen enjoy a smoke, Dee finds a coffeemaker, coffee, to which he quickly announces when he opens it, that it's a can from 1946! He's definitely the high maintenance one of the group-Dee go find yourself a Starbucks!
This does look like a promising series and maybe I'll keep you posted after all, I'll be curious to see whose alittle bit country and whose alittle bit rock and roll-where's Donny and Marie?-Single D

Ghost Hunters International - Scotland & England

Edinburgh Scotland - The Ragged School. This school was started so that poor children in the area could get an education. Sightings of a man is seen in the attic and various sounds are heard. Donna & Shannon in the attic don't get much action but Donna keeps getting chills. Could be Scottish ghosts like her too! Meanwhile Brian, in the command center, reports a shadow running past him but he didn't go after it, so no evidence. Come on Brian, you have been at this long enough not to grab a video camera and go ghost hunting! Barry & Robb go to the basement and see a light flash in one of the rooms but fail to find a source. A brief glimmer of hope of capturing something on film when Brian, in the basement, takes a picture and it shows a black mass. Barry quickly explains it away. Darn! Andy and Shannon are in the attic alone and in separate corners when Andy hears a footstep. Shannon, already nervous, has the most priceless facial expressions and is clearly not a happy camper. While reviewing the tapes, the team hears a response to Robb asking a spirit if he has a different name, the answer was a clear "yes". Another recorder, which was left in a room alone, produced a creepy "outta here"! Andy did catch a face on a wall with his digital camera which was not there in subsequent photos. Donna fails to see it making her ask the guys if one has to have a Y chromosome to see it. I too did not see the face until it was pointed out. While interviewing a woman who lived at the school, the team receives some photographs of others who lived there. One of the photographs appears to match the face on the wall. Robb declares the school haunted. Next we are back in England to investigate Belgrave Hall in Leicester. It was built in 1709 on two acres of walled gardens. Security cameras at one time caught what appears to be two figures coming out of the gardens toward the house and then disappear. The team watch this video and successfully debunk it as someone in a reflective jogging suit. While in the dining room with Shannon, Donna gets an eerie feeling and starts snapping photos. She catches a reddish haze in a couple of photos and other photos do not have it. When asked if someone is there with them during the photo session, they catch a "yes" on EVP. The security camera again catches a light moving by itself in the courtyard. Attempts to recreate it are unsuccessful. Verdict - haunted! Double D

Celebrity Apprentice-There's No Business Like Show Business

One of the reasons why this season's Celebrity Apprentice is so successful are the tender moments shared between the celebrity and their chosen cause, no less in this case, Tito's chosen charity, St Jude's Children's Hospital and the little girl he met with. Was there a dry eye anywhere?
This episode's challenge was to sell the most Broadway show tickets, with Vinny Pastore chosen, and his reluctant acceptance of the guys PM, and Marilu as the women's PM. I think Marilu did some reverse psychology when they were choosing what shows they wanted to sell when they met with Vinny and Lennox. Omorosa remarking to Vinny that she's never seen him move so fast. Marilu did her homework by calling her connections to find out which one was the hottest show tickets in town, something with the word Curtains in the title-never heard of it, then again, I'm not up on the hottest show in town. The closest thing to a Broadway show is my daughter's Christmas school play.
The guys ego's surface from time to time in jocking for the power positions for each challenge, especially between Baldwin and Piers, a love hate relationship. I have to laugh at their verbal barbs, they are like an old married couple and that scene where they are showed laughing their heads off, cracked me up. Baldwin's laughing sounding like some kind of deranged Chihuahua. I love him! He reminds me a hedgehog with beady little eyes.
The girls as usual are good at setting up their house neatly, displaying memorabilia and show ads prominently, and Marilu calling in her friend, my favorite Niles Crane, David Hyde Pierce. I love him but he was not utilized properly as Vince McMahon said. He should have been their come-hither showpiece. The guys on the on hand relied to Pier's Knight in Shining Chain Mail-(Spamalot) as the crowd getter. And no Piers, Ivank does not find you attractive! It was a race to the finish on whose connection would bring in the most money and Pier's friend Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic came through. Our rabid pit bull Nely calls in some of her high power friends to buy tickets and some of them come through, but in the end, her Latina girls couldn't find a place to make a cashier's check and the girls come up short again.
The best statement in the boardroom was made by Ivank saying that Marilu is one of the stronger players and that she needs to be kept. The girls otherwise polite surface is beginning to crack as Carol and Jennie tried to defend themselves against the A type personalities of Nely and Omorosa. In the end, Jennie, the Olympic softball champ did not come out swinging and struck out at the plate and was sent packing. Jennie, you just don't have the killer instinct in the world of corporate players, stick to hitting softballs!-Single D
Apprentice starts out with a tear jerker moment with Tito and Elizabeth from St. Jude's Hospital. I'm sure he will frame the picture that she drew for him.
Selling Broadway show tickets is right up Marilu's alley and she didn't waste any time becoming the PM and getting down to business. There must have been a lot of editing during the negotiations because all you see is Omarosa whispering to Marilu and then they all make their decisions which took all of 2 minutes. It must have been boring. The rest of the episode was not boring with Piers and Stephen arguing about anything and everything. They eventually kiss and make up and all is right with the dream team, Hydra.
Nely sure does think alot of herself considering she would have been fired on the last challenge. She kept calling herself a star and that she has a little black book that is as big as Gene Simmons. I highly doubt that! Back at the ticket booth, the girls do make everything look nice and Marilu calls in a few favors and gets some of the cast to come out to help sell tickets. Marilu must have caught David Hyde Pierce during a nap, he definitely did not look star like in his sweat shirt and baseball cap. I'm not even sure if anyone recognized him. Carol and Jennie were taking money and handing out tickets, Marilu was running around looking uncharacteristically unorganized (that was a mouthful), Nely was jumping up and down and screeching every time someone bought a ticket and Omarosa was no where to be seen, again with the editing. I'm sure she was working harder than anyone there!
The guys again start out at the ticket booth looking decidedly untidy with boxes everywhere. Stephen acquired a megaphone and starts shouting to the streets of NYC for everyone to buy show tickets for charity and letting the crowd know just who is doing the selling. Trace in the city - sounds like a good name for a sit com. This guy looks so out of place in the big city! He seemed genuinely surprised that there are people in NYC who don't speak English. Like Vinnie said, it is like walking around with the midnight cowboy. Loved Piers in the King Arthur get up calling the people "heartless bastards" for not buying tickets for charity. You go Piers, shame those people into donations!
Back in the boardroom, with the women thinking they had won big, Omarosa puts in her 25 cents worth telling the guys she thought it wasn't smart to have Piers dressed as a clown. This earned her a well deserved tongue lashing from Vinnie who told her is was King Arthur and that it shows his team would do anything to win and also threw in a bit about how his father wore a sandwich board to sell sandwiches. Take that Omarosa!
Well the women lost again but not by much this time and Omarosa came out with both guns blazing attacking Carol Alt. This shark doesn't take anything lying down and fired back at Omarosa saying she exploits everyone's weak points and does nothing to support anyone. The Donald again, pretty much tells Marilu to bring back Omarosa but she does not saying that she, Nely and Omarosa work well together. In the waiting room, Carol tries to make Marilu see sense by telling her that Omarosa is a cancer eating the team. In the end, Jennie tells the Donald that it is hard working with the group and that it is just mean and nasty with Omarosa and she didn't want to get used to that. The Donald said he didn't want her getting used to that and did her a favor by firing her. Double D

Project Runway 4- Iconic Denim

Well the cast of talent is rapidly dwindling and it seems that Victorya can't get it through her head that Kit is gone because she keeps calling Sweet Pea Kit. "Kit would you like a peanut butter sandwich?" Sweet Pea "I'm not Kit"
Victorya "Kit do you want more coffee?"
Sweet Pea "I'm not Kit"
For their next challenge, everyone met in a warehouse on the docks to which Chris said are we going to make designer cement galoshes as he gazes at the East River. Here we go again, another design by definition-make an iconic denim outfit with Levi jeans. Hmm, let me look up iconic-executing according to convention or tradition and/ or pertaining to an icon. On your mark, get set, GO-another mad dash for the icons-jeans-poor Chris, I bet when he signed up, he didn't know challenges would involve physical fitness sprints. And next time Sweet Pea wear better shoes, her flip flop went flying off in the mad dash but all she could do was focus on getting the jeans and material. I loved that parting shot where she shows the camera how dirty it was in the warehouse by showing the bottom of her very black foot, trust me, we believe you Kit, er I mean Sweet Pea.
Back at the studio, we hear the constant chatter of our poodle, Christian, ah where would this season be without him, certainly much, much duller. When the designers were told that they could use all the accessories, snaps, zippers etc they wanted, all I could think of is where's Tana (of Apprentice fame) and her Bedazzler? Jeans definitely need the Bedazzler.
When Tim makes his visit, he tells Sweet Pea that her outfit is looking like a scary granny, which sets Sweet Pea on the course of design editing again! And the Oscar for best costume editing goes to Sweet Pea! Why is it that she always has to change her design when she's almost done with it? I think Jillian was practicing self flagellation, by stabbing her fingers with the sewing machine needle and then crying out that she was bleeding all over the place. Me personally, I didn't see any blood, I think all that stress was causing hallucinations! And as Chris said, can't it wait 10 minutes-we have 10 minutes left on the clock.
On the runway, I thought most of the designs looked good. I didn't quite understand Chris's outfit and that denim handle on his dress. For once Rami didn't do any draping-can denim be draped? Ricky was an emotional wreck saying something about first you suck then you don't suck wah, wah, wah!
Somehow Sweet Pea always comes through in the squeeze, the judges saying that her pared down dress had that voodoo slimming quality to it. Hey, any outfit that has a voodoo slimming effect, I want 10 pleeze! Hey Sweet Pea great dress, but what were you wearing during the runway show? Polka Dotted Bloomers-I think somewhere, some little clown from Barnum and Bailey is missing his pants. Hey Bello, I know where your pants are!
In the end, Victorya's outfit was auf! It really did look like she pasted the skirt onto the jean jacket-and she didn't even make that jacket-at least Jillian's jacket dress was entirely made by her. I personally loved Jillian's and would buy it. Bye Victorya, it was the right choice by the judges, you just didn't have any bedazzling designs in the end. And Ricky, wake up, yes the judges said you won-your outfit was smart and sassy. Now stop crying!-Single D
I love Levi's!! So I was really excited about this challenge. Poor Fred, I mean Chris having to run again. It was kind of sad to watch him waddling his way into the warehouse, but waddle he did and got the goods. Sweat P was actually behind him after losing her shoe.
Back in the design room as everyone is going through their treasures, Christian starts whining about everything which prompts Chris to say, "give him a bottle and put him to bed!" Just how many times can Christian say, "I'm going to die" before someone actually commits homicide? Someone put him out of our misery!
Paranoia sets in on Jillian as she thinks Victorya stole her coat idea. I'd say the claws will come out but Jillian is too tame for that. And speaking of Jillian, can someone give that girl a watch? She has no sense of time management. She does seem to pull it out every week and finishes.
I do hope Heidi went to a cocktail party after the judging, that dress was way too cute to waste on a runway judging! Ricky again turned on the water works when the judges said they liked his dress. If he ends up winning this, he will cry for a month! Get a grip Ricky! Thank goodness Sweat P shortened her dress. It made a world of difference and makes me want to lose 20lbs so I could wear it! I liked Chris' dress except for the unfinished edges and Ricky's was just adorable which won him the challenge. Jillian ended up on the bottom for once but was saved win Victorya was auffed. Cute outfits for most in this episode, I would like to see several of them in the Levi's store. Chances are we wouldn't be able to afford them! Double D

American Idol-Season 7-San Diego and Charleston

The best part of American Idol is when the auditions are over-how many days do we need to suffer through the untalented, the deluded, the deranged unsinging masses? Is there anyone in the 12,000 people in San Diego that has any singing talent? First there was Monique and out of her mouth, not a sound, not a note, not a thing, Monique keep your day job. Then there was the mime and Pancho villa duet-what is this a talent show or a costume show? There was a paper airplane carrying love notes to Simon-yes, there are many women who think he's hot (and I'm one of them!) and as my daughter said "Mom have you noticed that Simon is nicer this year?" Simon what has happened? have you gone into therapy? taken anger management classes? found religion? He even let the brother and sister, Michelle and Jeffrey, the duet from Charleston go through because he couldn't break them up! Simon's a softy, Simon's a softy!
Simon did manage to show his sassy side however, when this poor girl showed up and Simon asked her if she was dressed by three different people. I think he gets more irate when an auditioner shows up badly dressed and then sings horrible to boot.
A special shout out to our flower child Alberto, Mr. 8000, you know the one with the long hair and the long fingernails and sang like a gloomy Gus? At least his mother thinks he has talent-Alberto go to a park and make yourself a daisy chain necklace!
PS-if you still want more outtakes of Idol castoffs you can view them on Idol Wrap on the TV guide Network. I actually saw Mr. Angel- you know the one that had the white feather hat that had Simon on it, and was wearing a white cape, giving his critiques-jeez, how do I get signed onto something like that? Next week they are promising to have our flower child, Alberto, I guess they are really giving each one their 15 minutes of fame. -Single D
Simon is getting soft in his old age, that or he just knew that first contestant in San Diego will fall on her face. Like he said, she is good but not great. Don't look for her in round two. She was followed by the heart string tugging widowed father who really was good. Then there was Michael from Australia - 2 words, hubba hubba!! He's good too ;)
Doesn't this show have like pre-screeners? I mean, come on, since when was any American Idol a mime?! And the one guy who has auditioned 11 times - when do you get it? At least he left the Statue of Liberty costume home this time (he still didn't get it).
Alberto the 3 inch nail flower child. What can we say about him? Plenty! But I'll just say, take those fans and go back to sniffing your flowers or whatever you have been sniffing.
The auditions can be entertaining. I was actually feeling sorry for Simon, he really hasn't been hard on anyone but the hopelessly untalented people always come out saying how he bashed them. I'm there for you Simon! Double D

Ghost Hunters International - Italy & Wales

This episode takes us to Principata Di Lucedio Abbey in Turin Italy. The abbey was built in 1123 and in 1650 a group of girls started practicing demonic worship which lead to the Pope excommunicating the abbey in 1740. It is believed there is an evil spirit in the crypts beneath the abbey and a "weeping column" in the judgement room said to be weeping because of all the evil done there.
The team starts investigating in the People's Church and right away things start hopping. Donna seemed to be the target of a shadow which followed her around the church and, at one point, touched her shoulder. She naturally freaked out and didn't want to go back in, but being the trooper she is, went back into the church to finish the investigation. After seeing shadows around her again, she asked whatever was in there to touch her hand, and something did! At the same time team all heard a whisper saying "go now" which was caught on audio. Poor Donna gets targeted again in the dormitory room when the team, again, sees shadows following her. She seems to be a pretty popular girl with the deceased!
In the judgement room, little Andy tries to debunk the weeping pillar. He finds cracks in the ceiling above the pillar with obvious water damage. He rigs up a bucket of water and pokes a hole in the bucket to see if the water draining would cause the pillar to cry. He unsuccessful and could not debunk the weeping pillar.
Barry and Brian go to the crypts below the church and immediately see something move and the reading on their Ion Meter rises, indicating something paranormal is present. In the second set of crypts, they hear a knocking sound and see a shadow. They follow the shadow which leads them to an alcove containing a piece of wood. Who was knocking wood?!
Nothing was caught on video but a lot of personal experiences were had, just ask Donna, and two EVP's were caught. One was the "go now" heard in the church and another, in Italian, which translated to "stop now, I'm getting angry". Final verdict, haunted.
On to Aberystwyth, Wales and the Nanteos Mansion. Built in 1738 it is the scene of a woman who roams the halls looking for her missing jewels and the sound of a harp playing is also heard. The house is built on top of the original house which, legend has it, 7 monks brought the Holy Grail to the mansion for safe keeping. As the monks died, they were buried in the basement of the original house.
Barry and Brian go to the basement and find a tunnel to which Barry says "oh, I like those!" Unfortunately, he is unable to fit into the tunnel and Brian goes instead. He finds a lot of bones and then a shadow comes toward him and he makes a hasty retreat.
On the staircase, Donna asks for a sign of a presence and is rewarded with a spike on the EMF. Andy and Donna follow the EMF readings down the hallway and hear sighing. Donna assures the spirit they don't want to upset it and asks if she is the woman who is upset looking for her jewels. Later, when listening to the recordings, they hear something answer Donna's question with a "yes". Creepy! The team also recorded a "help me" when no one was around. Donna debunked the Holy Grail legend after doing research. Verdict - paranormal activity but nothing threatening. Double D

Amazing Race-North to Alaska and the Finish Line

And the winner is TK and Rachel! Ok, I concede, they probably could use the money and in the end they turned out to be a force to be reckoned with. On this final leg of the race, the three teams left standing, Christina and father Ron, Nick and Gramps, and TK and Rachel leave for Anchorage Alaska. Right off the bat, Nick and Gramps make a huge mistake by not reading the clue completely and left their gear at the sporting goods store. When they reached their next destination, they realized they did not have their gear. Gramps immediately got on Nick for not reading the clue completely, hey Gramps, Nick carries your pack, at least you should read the clue also! I love it that the two challenges were Grab the Crab and Cut the Cod. The next time someone lets out gas, I'm going to say, who cut the cod, Who Cut the COD???
Speaking of cutting cod, it was amazing that Christina found the tiny capsule clue amongst all that fish guts. First off, I didn't think cod could grow that big and what was in that cod's stomach?-it didn't look like something a fish would eat, it looked like digested rolls of plastic.
Father Ron said a smart thing when he chose the cod over the crab, because he said that they would have pincher's and this we see when TK and Rachel tried to grab the crab. One word-ouch! Luckily for Rachel, TK pulled the right one out.
Back at the cod cutting tables, Gramps was good at cutting the cod open and I had to laugh when he told Nick to look for the clue in the fish guts and Nick said "with my hands??" uh da!
The next time I go to Alaska, I want to go on one of those high speed boat rides, that looked so awesome! I thought for sure, Christina was not going to make it up that shear ice cliff. We women lack in upper body strength, this I know, I'm such a weakling. Father Ron made good time surprisingly up that cliff, as well as all the others even Gramps. All I could say is come on Christina, pull yourself up-this is for the million dollars after all!
The final road block was very complicated with all the elements of every leg of the race put on a platform to win the final clue. I thought for sure, our Princeton educated Christina could pull it off, but then she starts to second guess herself and praying-praying! Come on, use that $100,000 education and THINK! She only had one wrong, when she started pulling items off the platform and getting behind. And then there was Nick, the big Goofy, lumbering his way. I thought if he manages to do this, I would laugh my head off. However, I knew when Rachel said, let me do it, I can do it, that they were probably going to win. They have been the surprise team of the season and their competitor spirit finally surfaces in the end. It was by luck and a dreadlock hair that they squeaked by Ron and Christina. Christina said at the end, that they took away much more than a million dollars, for me, I would have like the million dollars, I could always pay for family therapy.
And to the winners, TK and Rachel goes the spoils, in this case a million dollars. Now maybe TK and Rachel can go buy some shampoo, some new clothes and that VW van and somewhere out there "Cat's in the Cradle" is playing.-Single D
On to Anchorage! I hear it's really pretty there, but I can't get past the fact that it is Alaska and cold! They were obviously there in the summer and it still looked cold. I was hoping for a action packed photo finish to this one and was immediately disappointed when Nick & gramps blew the first clue by not getting their gear. Then TK & Rachel keep getting bad taxi drivers which finally makes a normally laid back TK lose his cool. OK, so now we know it can happen! Father Ron & Christina charge ahead with a huge lead and it was left to see who would come in second.
After retrieving their gear, gramps proved he was pretty handy with a knife gutting the cod and Nick proved he was a big sissy for not looking through the guts. Come on Nick, the least you could do is prod around in fish innards for a chance at a cool mil! TK & Rachel decide they would rather get pinched by crabs than look through fish guts. Just as they had had enough of the pinching, TK finds the lucky crab and they jump ahead of Nick & gramps (what is his name anyway?). All is not good in hippyville as TK & Rachel get another lost taxi driver. TK mentions that it was easier to communicate with the taxi drivers in India.
That boat ride did look like fun, I've always wanted to see a moose. At the glacier, father Ron scrambled right up that ice! I guess the fear of falling into that cold water would get me up there pretty quick too. Gramps climbed right up also making Nick look like a slacker.
The last challenge was to assemble items they used along the race. Who remembers this stuff? I really thought Christina would get it first and fast, but it was Rachel who pulled it out and got them the million dollars. Kudos to father Ron who has made an amazing turn around and finally appreciates his daughter. And congrats to gramps (Don, and you didn't think I knew his name) for being the oldest person to finish the Amazing Race! TK & Rachel can now afford a hairbrush, Ron & Christina have mended fences and Nick & Don have taught each other a thing or two. This race had an impact on everyone involved, for the better! Can't wait to see what happens in the next Amazing Race! Double D

Celebrity Apprentice-A Kodak Moment

In the beginning there was Gene. Everything Gene touched turned to gold. He called himself the Benevolent Dictator. He was revered by men and worshipped by women. The world turned on it's axis because Gene hath spoken, and when he spoketh, the powerful, the mighty bowed down and acquiesced to him, he they calleth Gene. Hey wait a minute, was I dreaming? Someone wake me up because this wasn't how it played out on Celebrity Apprentice. In the beginning there was the Donald, and he said to Gene, how about you going over to the women's side and become their project manager, because the women can't win for S--T! Gene, whose usually stoic face did make a slight grimace, reluctantly said ok, but called the Donald the devil in the process. The guys as usual did the right thing and met with the Kodak executives and surprise, surprise understood what Kodak wanted, gee, now if I could only get my husband to catch on that quickly! On the other hand, Gene being Gene, this time sent two of his troops to meet with the executives. Unfortunately, he sent Nely and Carol, blabber mouth and the mute model. Because of Nely's incessant talking, they were unable to grasp what it was that the Kodak execs wanted. Kodak was unveiling it's 5300 printer with it's incredible ink, so cheap that it hopes to blow away the competition. Believe me, it's working. I went online to see the price of this printer and the cost of ink and because ink is so expensive, I'm in the market to buy one. Where do I sign up? Hey Kodak how about a free printer for the free plug- anybody listening out there? I'm so miserly with my ink that if my daughter ask to print something it better be for some school assignment.
Meanwhile, the guys elect Tito to be their project manager. I loved it when Piers said that Stephen was acting like a demented Rhino with a spear in his back. Stephen always takes the bull by the horns so to speak.
With most of their art work done, Stephen was taking pictures of the two burliest guys, Tito and Lennox, posing with the Kodak printer, shirts off, hey guys can a printer be sexy? Stephen jumps off the table and splat went the coffee right into the laptop that had all their art designs. Oopise! Guys, you have to stop rough housing. The guys start scrambling and blaming, scrambling and blaming when the voice of God, Trace tried to calm them down. When Jim Cramer made his visit to both camps, I thought he looked perplexed when he made his visit to the girls Winnebago, but was even more surprised by the guys camp, their disorganization, their garbage dump, their mess. The guys explained their mishap but once inside Jim was able to see that the guys were on track with the right promotional idea, plus it didn't hurt that Alec Baldwin made a surprise visit to the guys camp-did I mention I saw him eating lunch in LA?
In the boardroom, points were scored for each side, the women's for their organization and product labeling but really missed the point on what Kodak was trying to achieve. The guys messy setup was over looked because they hit it the main idea Kodak was projecting-cheap ink! It was a tense boardroom scene, the guys won again, hi five, down lo. Trump asked Gene why he didn't go to meet with the Kodak people and with a wave of his hand Gene said he didn't need to as he knew all that was needed to know. Trump went on to say that Nely pissed off the execs because she couldn't keep her trap shut. When he asked Carol if that was true, Carol refused to lay blame-aw come on, throw Nely under the bus-what is wrong with the women? They are all so polite not to offend each other with the exception of Omorosa, she'd throw her cat under the bus. The Donald kept throwing out Nely name as the one that messed up, Nely this, and Nely that, but when he asked Gene to bring back two with him, who does Gene chose? Jenny and Omorosa! Another aw come on moment! Gene was so steadfast in his choice however miscalculated, that it was his ultimate demise. Trump wanted to fire Nely (we all wanted her gone), but Gene in his superior, stubborn way brought back the wrong people. Everyone in the boardroom was totally perplexed! I was perplexed, America was perplexed! What are you thinking. Are you so full of your own self, you can't see beyond those black shaded glasses? No need to wonder why he brought back who he did, in the end he got fired and that in itself was a Kodak moment! -Single D
When I saw the challenge was for Kodak I was excited because I love taking pictures and experimenting with printing. So I was very curious about this new affordable ink. The self proclaimed Benevolent Dictator, Gene, went to the women's team and became the "King of All Women". How many titles can a guy have? Let's not forget Gene, that we all knew you as "the tongue" from your Kiss days! Well he lived up to his ego-maniacal image and sent only two reps from the women's team to meet with the Kodak executives. Now Carol seems to be a pretty smart cookie so why she didn't kick Nely under the table to get her to shut up is beyond me. If nothing else, I thought sure Carol would pick up on the ink thing. As it was, Nely told the team Kodak was promoting their new printer and said nothing of the ink. I have a feeling after this show, anyone in a meeting with her will think twice about letting her promote anything!
Back at the guys camp, Stephen is all about crawling around on the table. After getting Lennox and Tito on the table for a photo shoot, they all upset the table sending coffee into the laptop which contains all of their art work. Way to go guys! Don't you ever see those signs about not having drinks next to your computer? Everyone is all upset then you hear Trace in the background with that country drawl saying, "Ya all calm down". I have yet to see any emotion from this man. Aren't country singers supposed to be all down in the mouth missing their dog's or something? They managed to get their presentation going, messy but going. It did look like a trash heap with all of the printer boxes stacked outside and the banners falling off the trailer. Ever hear of duct tape? It would have fit right in with the decor. After getting their trailer set up, the guys get a big boost when Alec Baldwin stops by and buys two printers for $1000 each. Did I ever tell you that Single D saw Alec having lunch in LA?
Gene decides to use the ladies looks and celebrity to sell printers saying he is doing "God's work" by doing so. Why not, he already thinks he is the Almighty's right hand man. I keep hearing this phrase, "It's a Kodak World, Welcome" every couple of minutes. The trailer set up was fantastic but they didn't really put a lot of effort in the promoting of the ink or the printer. In the end the Benevolent Dictator couldn't pull it off and ended up the boardroom. What I couldn't understand is that the Donald practically told Gene to bring Nely in with him so she could be fired. Personally, I think Gene just didn't want to be there anymore and got himself fired. Nely has a strong presence but she is just not a real leader. Gene stuck by his guns even as he was being driven away in the limo, he kept saying how wrong everyone was. So Adios Gene and we didn't even get to see that tongue! ;) Double D

Project Runway 4-Make me the Avant-Garde

This episode centered on making an avant-garde outfit from inspiration from their model's hair. Their model's hair? The model's hair were quite normal-no hair raising styles, no bride of Frankenstein streak of grey, no Marie Antoinette coif and not a single Wendy's in the bunch. Just a few curls and long sleek locks. One would definitely need some imagination and help. Maybe that's why they were paired, Kit and Ricky, Sweet P and Rami, Chris and Christian (I had to laugh, C & C) and Victorya and Jillian. Chris and Christian looked like the bulldog and the poodle and I loved it when Christian said that if he were a girl his name would be Furouch (as in fierce). If he were a girl? He's more girl than Paris Hilton, especially when he struts his stuff like he's on the catwalk. I'm just jealous I can't walk like that! I think the person that suffered the most was poor Sweet P, having to deal with I am better than thou, Rami (formally known as "my designs don't stink"). I had high hopes for him, but his attitude and single sense of style is getting on my last nerve, plus the fact that none of his designs are wearable, or in other words, who would want to wear them. Rami and Sweet P are totally opposite in personalities, she's lay back and moves like a turtle, he's all tension and tautness. Their outfit was definitely not a collaboration of two, but of one, namely Rami's. There was no drama in Rami-ville. I was glad when Tim announced the surprise twist, that they would also have to create an everyday outfit from inspiration from their avant garde outfit, so that Sweet P had a chance to show off a design of her own. I didn't think she would be able to pull it off in the amount of time, (as evident from her past failings), but her dress was lovely and something I would want to wear.
I wasn't quite understanding Chris and Christian's dress, although I know the origins of it, a throw back to Chris's costume float days and Beach Blanket Bingo theater days. I loved the layers, loved the color, reminded me of some kind of rufflie wedding cake, but what was that shoulder thingy? Could it possibly provide shade for a small child? be a tray to carry drinks? or maybe some kind of ruffled fan? Very strange, but I did love the color.
I don't know how Ricky and Kit came up with their design, did they think their model looked like Little Bo Peep or Scarlett O'Hara, I guess they didn't realize this was not the Oscar for costume design or maybe they didn't know what avant garde means. Unorthodox, unique, daring, radical, how is Bo Peep radical? As Kit and Ricky left the runway after being told by the judges that theirs was one of the worst, I thought Ricky would faint and he looked like he needed help walking as he stumbled his way backstage. But he needn't worry as it was poor Kit, given the auf by the judges because of her too innocent interpretation of the avant garde.
My favorite design by far was Jillian's and Victorya's. That outfit was simply amazing! Beautiful and edgy. I didn't think those two would work well together, but there was no diva in the word team this time. It looked like they would not have enough time to finish their work, but as Jillian said "team last minute" pulled it off. Good for them, maybe they should consider opening a boutique together?
In the end, the winner of the challenge were Chris & Christian, because they really embodied the words avant garde-a daring, radical, experimental treatment of the artistic and that we know is where Chris really shines!-Single D
I too thought there was a lot missing as far as the hair went. The designers had two models to choose from and the only hair style you could really call way out was the bird nest looking do, which wasn't used, the rest looked pretty tame. At first I thought, no! not teams again but everyone worked well together except Sweet P and Rami. I really didn't expect Jillian and Victorya to get along, it should have been the clash of the designing divas and it was a little tense at first but Jillian came up with the let's flip a coin thing and all was right in the design room. Then you have Chris & Christian or Fred Flintstone and his pet poodle. Those two are a riot! I still say Christian wants to be the one on the runway. He was actually pretty good "modeling" around the design room.
Poor Sweet P having to put up with Rami. He wouldn't listen to her about anything. She was trying to tell him to put a bustle on the dress but he wasn't having any of it. Thank goodness he let her alone to do the dress, it was very cute. I used to like Rami, but after seeing how he treated Sweet P and acted like his stuff didn't stink, I was secretly hoping he would lose. Like Heidi said, can he do something other than draping? That queen needs to get off his throne!
Victorya & Jillian worked pretty good together except they were slow. I would have voted them to win with that outfit. It had that futuristic quality about it and it matched the model's hair perfectly. Jillian thought she had a bust on her hands with the everyday dress but it came out really cute too. Victorya actually kept her ego in check this time, I think because she knew Jillian can create!
Then we have Chris & Christian. Chris came through with his parade float dress as I knew he would! Christian was having fun playing with the ruffles. Tim was worried about their everyday look, but Christian stuck by it and he "made it work"! Good going team Fierce! Chris has come a long way after being Auf'ed. I'm glad he's back, he makes me laugh!
